About Communicating for Change
MISSION STATEMENT
Communicating for Change (CFC)
is a dynamic, state-of-the-art communications organisation
raising Africans' awareness of environment and development
issues to create positive change to develop the continent
and change lifestyles. Messages are produced from a distinctly
African perspective to counter the ever increasing flow of
foreign, often culturally inappropriate, programming. Besides
awareness rising, CFC plays an important role in promoting
partnerships between the public, private, academic, and NGO
sectors by providing excellent, appropriate, and cutting-edge
communications support, products, and training.
More About CFC
CFC raises Africans' awareness of environment
and development issues (including gender, health, education,
agriculture, debt relief, forests, climate change, water,
pollution and democracy & good governance). CFC focuses
on audio, video, print, media research, theatre, capacity
building and electronic communications via the Internet to
relay messages.
CFC is a grantee of the Ford
Foundation, the Norwegian Human Rights Fund, and the Rockefeller
Foundation, and works in partnership with numerous international
organisations including the Television
Trust for the Environment (TVE) and the United States
Agency for International Development (USAID). It is funded
through grants, donations, and income generated from fee-based
services. CFC is a non-governmental organisation limited
by guarantee and is run entirely on a not-for profit basis.
